Duties and responsibilities

1. Review contract drawing and specifications, and cost effectively the design control system to meet requirements.
2. Review equipment submittal from mechanical contractor.
3. Develop project drawing using Microsoft Viso.
4. Generate valve and damper schedules.
5. Generate RFI's and VE suggestions to minimize costs on project.
6. Brief installation foreman and checkout technician on system design and requirements.
7. Create database and control software to meet system requirements.
8. Review graphic package for ALC to design system graphics.
9. Track project labor vs. task completion to assure successful project completion on a weekly basis.
10. Generate as built drawing and O&M manuals.
11. Coordinate system training with EMS training personnel

They typically work under the direct supervision of a higher level Building Automation Commissioning Technician . A Building Automation Technician I typically--

1. Troubleshoots and repairs building-automation-system field cabinets, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.

2. Performs point to point checkout of systems to ensure proper installation.

3. Assist developing AS-Built documentation, archival of customer user files and performing warranty related service calls.

4. Assists the Building Automation Technician I or II in performing necessary commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures (such as field verification of system functions to ensure the proper operation of building automation systems.

5. Assists the Building Automation Technician I or II in editing computer programs for building-automation system points (such as determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.

6. Assists the Building Automation Senior Technician in the implementation of energy conservation measures by utilizing and/or modifying the existing building automation-system features (such as mathematical computation and environmental controls).

2. Estimate and track project change orders.
3. Estimate labor and material need to complete project.
4. Develop schedule of values for project tracking and billing.
5. Review equipment submittal from mechanical contractor.
6. Brief installation foreman and checkout technician on system design and requirements.
7. Schedule the ordering of material to meet project schedule completion dates.
8. Review graphic package for ALC to design system graphics.
9. Track project labor vs. task completion to assure successful project completion on a weekly basis.
10. Coordinate with installation foreman and checkout technician to monitor project performance.
11. Produce monthly billing based on costs and schedule of values.
12. Assist on an as needed basis with collection of over due invoicing.
13. Prepare and submit change orders as need to complete project.
14. Supervise project commissioning and demonstration as necessary.
15. Review as built drawing and O&M manuals.
16. Coordinate system training with EMS training personnel.
17. Generate project warranty letter after system acceptance
